Do all candles have wood wicks?
The large and medium black and white containers come with either wood wicks or natural fibre wicks. The copper tins come with natural fibre wicks. You may request your preference, however this would be a custom order and would affect delivery time. Happy to accommodate though.
Why does my candle sweat?
There can be a few reasons for candle sweating, but the most common is the oil content of the candle. In most cases, this is just something caused by temperature fluctuations and won’t affect the performance of the candle. Once the candle is out and cool, if preferred for aesthetics, you can use a paper towel to clean up any excess oil.
Exposure to heat or humidity is the most common cause for sweating. Hotter, damper conditions increase the odds that a candle sweats. It can help to keep a sweating candle out of direct sunlight or away from heat sources.
Why does candle wax turn a yellow or brownish colour?
Soy wax candles will be affected by natural and/or artificial light at some point. Like the way sunlight will turn white fabrics yellow. Also, fragrances with a high vanillin content can cause wax to develop a yellow or brownish tint within 24 hours. This is purely an aesthetic aspect and won't affect the performance or scent of the candle. To assist preventing this from occurring, we recommend storing your candle in a cool dark location with the lid on until you are ready to burn.
